Free Your Artist

"When you walk to the edge of all the light you have And you take the first step into the darkness of the unknown You must believe that one of two things will happen There will be something solid for you to stand upon or you will be taught to fly."

   —Patrick Overton

Creativity Exercise

COLORS!

Difficult:

Make a rainbow of your latest work. Whether story, song, dance, improv think of your last work and the emotions you wanted to evoke from your audience. Make a rainbow, a chart of the work with colors as emotions ? does it start out with a dark and stormy night full of terror? A pretty, uneventful summer's day? And does it end "happily ever after" with rainbow sparkles?

If you cook, tatt, or do creative handcrafts, think of how you felt before, during and after your work and make a rainbow of that, include reaction to your work.

Easy:

Pick a color, write down all the emotions that you associate with that color. Incorporate that into your work.

Affirmation

I am light and prisms and rainbows and know the colors of my soul reveal different aspects of myself and each color can spur creativity.
